A Little About Me…
Since venturing out and becoming a full time business owner of 2 businesses (yup you heard that right, 2 full time businesses) I am fortunate enough to continue to develop, lead, and guide people by being a Qualified Supervisor for both Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy Registered Interns as well as providing services to ambitious mental health professionals wanting to brand themselves and grow their dream practices. In fact we are SO passionate about helping therapist become entrepreneurs that my awesome friend, colleague, side kick and business partner Dr. Kate and I created The Private Practice Startup. We are a global company and help clinicians by providing fun, interactive and engaging podcasts, webinars, online courses and live trainings/events, private practice coaching, Attorney Approved Private Practice Paperwork and so much more. Check us out and see how we can help you! Many registered interns who are committed to being successful in private practice naturally find me as we incorporate this into the work we do in supervision.
Supervision is held bi-weekly either on Fridays or Saturdays. I do both group and individual supervision. Friday supervision is held in Coconut Creek and Saturday supervision is held in Coral Springs.
I strongly believe in delivering a complete package when it comes to your journey towards licensure. Supervision is not just talking about cases. It is an exploration of everything that goes into make a “great clinician” from laws, rules, and ethics, to writing clinical summaries, setting boundaries, self care, self of the therapist and private practice. We also invite guest speakers, have interns present, partake in experiential activities, and have taken field trips to expand our growth and development. Imagine taking supervision to the farm? We had the great opportunity of working with the folks at Stable Place and experiencing Equine Assisted Supervision. Don’t be surprised if through the course of supervision you not only achieve your professional goals but your personal goals as well. I believe in both personal and professional development of each person I supervise.
“I just completed my supervision requirement for state licensure and I want to thank my supervisor Katie Lemieux for the guidance she provided in helping me reach my goal. I found that having a qualified supervisor in my corner during my quest for licensure played an extremely vital role in the process. If you are looking for someone who will listen to your perspective, who will engage you in thoughtful and meaningful dialogue and who understands how important the journey to licensure is for personal growth, I would highly recommend that you give Katie Lemieux a call. ”
“It was wonderful working with you, too. Looking back over our time together, I can see how my supervision with you influenced my sense of competence and professionalism in so many ways, especially in being able to see myself move beyond what was my work environment, and towards my own “why.” Thanks again!”
“Katie has been an inspiration that allowed me to go above and beyond. Under her leadership, not only I have received professional support, but I also have her personal support that has helped me achieve my goals.”
“Katie’s ability to simplify complex techniques within therapy models into usable; “rubber meets the road” type of advice has and will continue to prove invaluable to me as I develop into a therapist. Katie has a gift for teaching and helping others understand not only the academics of therapy but also the art and practice of become a great therapist.”
“Katie brings forth strengths and successes rather than focusing on weaknesses and problems. Her great energy, motivation, creativity, and excellent clinical skills helped me grow both professionally and personally. Katie values collaboration and support interactions, and uses a combination of learning approaches. She knows just how and when to challenge in a way that enables you to break through limiting assumptions and habits, and she brings humanity to the learning experience.”
“Katie’s “Model of the Month” allows supervisees to explore therapy models and teach their co-workers. I have personally witnessed the enthusiasm from her staff when teaching their coworkers. This encourages teamwork and learning in a congenial, non-judgmental environment. Staff are excited about learning. Staff are invested in learning and don’t look at learning as a chore. I have almost 30 years of experience and even I learn from Katie.”
“Katie is an admirable mentor whose selfless contributions to her team are utterly inspiring. Katie believes in her staff. Growth is a constant theme in the office. Katie’s biggest contributions are her optimism, warm personality, and big heart.”
“Katie is an individual who helped take my education and turn it into a blossoming skill set to help individuals and families in the community. As a supervisor she harnessed my talents and desires and expanded them in a way that made my techniques more proficient. Katie’s method of supervising is a team approach to learning from one another. I am a better therapist today because of her constant dedication and desire to have eclectic therapists in the community.”
