* Do you feel like you don’t know which way turn?
* Do you feel stuck and unable to get out of a rut?

Everyone experiences and goes through difficult times during the course of their lives. Many people turn to friends, family, co-workers, faith or other solutions to resolve their problems. When you are no longer getting the results you want or previous solution attempts are no longer working or working as well as you like them to, it may be useful to enlist the help and support from a qualified therapist or counselor.
Q. Can you share a little bit about your background?
A. “I believe that people have the strengths and resources they need to live the life they want. Sometimes they need guidance, coaching and support along the way.”

My name is Katie Lemieux and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I seek to understand people and empower them to make decisions and choices in overcoming their problems and achieving their own personal goals, successes and victories. I am a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and served as Vice President for the Broward Association for Marriage and Family Therapy from 2012 – 2014. I am a Qualified Supervisor for the State of Florida and supervise Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy Registered Interns.
As a therapist delivering quality services for individuals counseling, couples counseling, and family counseling in the Fort Lauderdale, Coral Springs and tri-county areas, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life worth celebrating. While we can’t change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve present challenges creating a new future. Counseling with a qualified therapist, one you trust and feel comfortable with, can help you get there.
Q. What if I want other people involved in my counseling?
A. I enjoy collaborating with others and often prefer it. I am a team player at heart and know magic happens when we all work together for the common interest of a client, couple, family, purpose and goal. If you have others involved in your treatment or want others involved, with your permission and where appropriate we will incorporate them.
Creating a team around a shared vision allows for:
- Quicker results,
- Additional perspectives,
- More solutions,
- Longer lasting outcomes.
Q. How long have you be in the field and what else do you do?
A. I have been working in the field since 2000. I have a passion and skill for leading and guiding people fulfilling on their goals and achieving what is important to them.
I do this in a variety of platforms:
- In office or in home counseling,
- Groups and workshops,
- Coaching, training, and presenting to organizations, companies, and business.
Let’s get more acquainted check out the “About Me” page.
Q. What is your style of therapy/counseling like?
A. Imagine for a moment what it would be like to walk into a store and buy a product which suites ALL your needs. You may have already have had this experience. You may also have had to buy many products where you lose one feature to gain another. What would it be like if YOU as the consumer or customer were able to create a product that suites ALL your needs rather than having to buy a product that has “almost” everything you want?
My style of counseling is created with the customer/client in mind. This encompasses everything from how, when, and where sessions are scheduled to creating goals and interventions to achieve those goals. We realize all people are unique. Although we have worked with many people that have similar concerns or “problems”, we know that each person, couple, family, business and organization is different. Our clients come to us from many different cultural, spiritual, familial, geographical and religious backgrounds. Our clients also come to us with many experiences, beliefs, outlooks and philosophies on life. We look at and highlight what is already working and explore what is not working, co-creating new solutions to achieving success.
* We are always open to your feedback on expanding our services, improving our service delivery and learning how we can best serve the people we work with. So feel free to “Contact Us” with your suggestions.
Q. What is therapy like with you?
A. I create a comfortable and welcoming environment for us to explore the very reason you are seeking counseling. I utilize my training and knowledge as a therapist, coupled with my own continuous self-development providing an expansive array of solutions, ideas, and techniques to implement. Most sessions are served with a side or 2 of humor and seasoned with on the spot, collaboratively created interventions.
Upon the first visit many clients report feeling “at ease, relaxed, accepted, comfortable…” and report they have let a “big weight off their shoulders”. My favorite comment that I hear often is, “you are not like any other therapist I have met.” For a firsthand view of what therapy is like checking out our various testimonials scattered throughout the website.
Q. How is success achieved in therapy/counseling?
A. Achieving success in counseling is based on several factors.
There are 2 main factors:
- Your willingness, motivation, and desire to make a change.
- The other important factor in achieving success in counseling is based on how you view your relationship with your counselor/therapist. Feeling at ease, accepted and understood opens up a space to look at and explore the things that have you feeling stuck. Success is also achieved by the actions you implement outside of session.
